چکیده

Background:Different phylogenetic groups of uropathogenic Escherichia coli are associated with increased virulence and multidrug resistance, highlighting the importance understanding genetic characteristics these isolates for effective treatment prevention UTIs. Genomic analysis was conducted on 100 obtained from multiple hospitals in Baghdad, Iraq, which showed extensive resistance to drugs, including both multi-drug resistant (MDR) extensively-drug (XDR) isolates. Methodology: Antibiotic susceptibility evaluated using disc diffusion technique. PCR used test presence groupings characterise antibiotic genes. Results: Phylogroup F (36.66%) C (23.33%) were most common. Isolates UPEC found every phylogroup, except six that untypable. The study identified 54 out 70 typed belonged phylogroups (33/70) (21/70) as multidrug-resistant, a high percentage (70.76%) demonstrating drug (XDR). Based particular genes or DNA, E. populations classified into eight basic groups: A, B1, B2, C, D, E, (belonging sensu stricto), clade I clade). Conclusion: our findings, certain types belonging group more common, dangerous, antibiotics than others when it comes

Antibiotic Resistance Pattern and Phylogenetic Groups of the Uropathogenic Escherichia coli Isolates Recovered from the Urinary Catheters of the Hospitalized Patients

Introduction: Almost 80% of nosocomial urinary tract infections (UTIs) are due to catheterization. Catheter-associated UTI (CAUTI) is the primary source for colonization of antibiotic-resistant pathogens, and uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) is the most common causative bacteria. This study was conducted to determine the phylogenetic groups, and antibiotic resistance pattern as the two imp...

Antibiotic Resistance Pattern of Different Escherichia coli Phylogenetic Groups Isolated from Human Urinary Tract Infection and Avian Colibacillosis

Background: The emergence and propagation of different phylogenetic groups of antimicrobial-resistant E. coli have become a worldwide health concern in human and veterinary medicine. Therefore, the evaluation of the phylogenetic distribution of antibiotic-resistant E. coli is important for therapeutic and economic purposes. The aims of this study were to determine phylogenetic groups and patter...

Antibiotic Resistance Patterns in Enteric and Uropathogenic Strains of Escherichia Coli in Children

Abstract Background and Objective: Escherichia coli is the most common cause of urinary tract infections in children and the leading cause of intra-abdominal infections (peritonitis and abscess) followed intestinal injuries. Urinary tract infection, including cystitis and pyelonephritis, is a common childhood infection. E. coli causes more than 90 percent of the community acquired and 50% of ho...

Molecular Characterization and Antimicrobial Resistance of Uropathogenic Escherichia coli

Background:Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are the most common infectious diseases in childhood. The Uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) strains account for as much as 80% of UTIs. Objective:From a clinical perspective, it is important to know which virulence factors and antibiotic resistance properties are present in UPEC strains in pediatrics. Therefore, this study was carried out...

Drug resistance, serotypes, and phylogenetic groups among uropathogenic Escherichia coli including O25-ST131 in Mexico City.

INTRODUCTION The increasing prevalence of uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) strains resistant to multiple antibiotics complicates the treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs). This study aimed to analyze the antimicrobial resistance, serotypes, and phylogenetic groups among strains of E. coli isolated from outpatients with UTIs in Mexico City. METHODOLOGY A total of 119 E. coli isolat...
